They might assume that no one likes them. People who judge others solely on their appearance are superficial. They’re obsessed with how they look on the outside, which doesn’t mean much. Teach your teen to look beyond the obvious and they will discover more, like something they don’t like. They’ll find that the ‘outside’ box isn’t representative of what’s inside. When they get a pimple or zit, they can become emotional. When a pimple or zit appears on your teen’s face, they – ‘freak out.’ They could become very emotional. Calm them down and remind them to take their acne medication as prescribed. In the morning and at night, make sure they wash their faces. Girls may avoid developing acne by removing their makeup before going to bed. It’s not the end of the world if you have a pimple or a zit.

They may consider committing suicide. While this is serious, your teen’s acne could push them over the edge. Please tell your teen that committing suicide as a result of his or her acne is not an option. Acne can be managed with the use of facial scrubs, creams, and antibiotics (when necessary). Get support for your teen if he or she is suicidal. They’ll profit from talking about their feelings with others. You may want to enrol them in a teen support group. They’ll feel better thinking they’re not alone in their acne struggles.

The adolescent years can be difficult. The human body undergoes changes, and life can feel like a roller coaster ride at times. Take your teen to a dermatologist if they have acne. It can be cleared up, but it can take up to six months in some situations. Assure your teen that all will be fine. They can find solace in the fact that their favourite actor, actress, or singer suffers from acne or had it as a teenager. Any chance you get, give your teen a hug and say, “I love you.” They could use as much help as they can get.
